I started mine before I knew it might become part of a series. That being
the case mine will play pretty good as a stand alone project, as well as this series due to its space theme. I did talk to fernito a couple days ago by email and he said that he has just had alot of stuff going on and he should be checking back here soon. I think the key to getting this project finished would be more talk and pics about maps that are being worked on from some of the mapers that we rarely hear from. Perhaps we could set a date, like once a month where we all come together and give updades on our maps. That way we are all on the same page. Organization and Comunication is the key to accomplishing a group effort. "that sounded like a teacher" So far Ive seen info and scenes of maps only from Supertanker. I've also played the map Feninto is working on a while back, but other than that I havent seen much. If you are working hard on a map for dttp, and even if you have your own site to post info come back here once and a while and let us know that your working on something, this being the place where the idea was brought up and all. We could get attention if we pull off a good episode read part of this review I found at msdn talking about red 3. """"Description: A few years back a new type of gameplay was introduced. If your not familiar with John Carmack, he is the guy mainly responsible for the doom series. Doom 3 as well I believe. Duke3d really built off of some of the ideas that doom and doom2 used in an attempt to make the first 1st person shooter that would actually be suspensfull and scary. If it wernt for doom and doom2 duke3d would have looked more like doom having suddenly been the first to build off wolfinstien 3d. hehe

I haven't even had time to work on Saturn base, but i've got a basic layout done.
BTW for whoever is doing whaever comes after saturn, how does your level start? Teleporter or ship?

Mike sent me his map, but I haven't played it yet (It will be the 1st thing I'm going to do when arrive home). What's the advance level for the rest of you guys? |

Hey Ferninto, One thing I may not have mentioned is that the art you see in tilesart 14, and 15 does look to take up considerable space however much of those are test pieces or pieces that I used to make more complex ones. So many of them will eventually be removed to create space.
even though I plan to import other tiles I shouldnt be taking up any more space than I am now after all the unecessary pieces are removed. I may end up filling 3\4 of tilesart 14 or 15 when all is said and done. Keep in mind that, everything I create, import, or any copied original tiles that I altered In the user art section, everybody here will be welcome to use. I plan to import a handfull of various rocket and space images that can be used as hanging or framed pics in some of the bases. Im planning on using one of NASA's mercury space suits that look much less bulky than the Apollo suits as a base to create space suits for some of the dead space cadets I want to create. With the NASA badge removed and other changes it should look nice. """ Shoudnt be a problem as these old images are not copyrighted from what I understand""" I just imported a 256 by 256 image of a full moon and trimed the corners off. It looks great even if stretched to cover an entire decent sized wall or floor. So things like this may have more than one use for you guys. I also wanted to let you know that my map was previewed at msdn in the upcoming maps section as a stand alone project, but I did inform mikko of DTTP, and the chance that this map could become part of an episode. I think to preview anything on DTTP however he would have to touch base with you first. |

Ok, my email seems to work now
Im not sure why it was out before I went on a trip four days ago, but it seems to be working good now.
So what do you think of those changes? Let me know what you think about the fact that its two maps now as well because its going to be difficult or near impossible to make it one map at this point. So working two maps in as a seceret level will be unusual but im sure we can think of somthing. The next update will probably be another three months away, or untill I finish the ""hangar, the inside tunnels, and the wider outside tunnel"" Witchever comes first. |

I figured this would happen. no one is willing to release betas to give us some idea of what is actually going on. hell, not even the team members get to look because the mappers are so stingey.
And this of course leaves everyone wondering if anyone is actually doing something, then they stop until they here something new is going on (which is never.) and here we stand in the rotting carcass of a once great beast. Way to go, buddies. |

Well im still workin on mine wether or not its in dttp, I have been giving beta versions of my map to fernito to keep him up to date, I guess I could have posted it here too, but with all the pics and info Ive posted about my map I just figured not spoil it for ya by posting half complete versions of it. Ive keept you guys updated a couple days a week for the last three months so no guilt here
