Doh.
Thanx for the reply phayzon.

At least my $30 for the Kill-A-Ton cd's wont be wasted then (IF I can get them to work on XP64).

weren't most of those developed by sunstorm? I mean, manhattan project is on there, their redneck rampage addon is on there. shouldn't be impossible to get the dn3d addons aswell I would have thought? of course I have no idea about the particulars of each of these individual projects.

Pay, download, install, play, yours to keep. No DRM, no "client" needing to be running.

Plus, it is just a file you download (the installer with the game in it) and you can install on any machine from that single file.

You dont need to keep downloading the file over and over for new machines (like with STEAM).

Also, IIRC, you can download that file as many times as you want, for however long you want (or, until/if they go out of business).

I let DNMP slide since its actually a full game and 3DR now owns the rights to it. But as for the Redneck explansions... well hmm.. maybe there is a chance?

You can make a backup within Steam that is a compressed installer so you don't have to keep re-downloading.

I actually thought Nuclear Winter was kind of lame. Loved DC, and Caribbean was by far my favorite of the 3.

NW is lame. The first two maps are the only decent ones but they're just the two DN3D maps redone with some changes.

Also the new sprites are a different style than the old ones so they look out of place.

The reason why Redneck Rampage Collection is there is because Interplay was the original publisher for the Windows versions..

So I think Interplay is where GOG gained their permission to sell it from.

In reguards too the Duke Expansions by Sunstorm, being the following games:
  • Duke Xtreme
  • Duke it out in D.C.
  • Duke Caribbean: Life's A Beach

They where all published by WizardWorks Software wich was a publishing brand of GT Interactive.

Also Nuclear Winter was NOT developed by Sunstorm, but by WizardWorks Software..

And since GT Interactive got bought by Atari, they should own the rights to all those expansions..

I'm glad someone is paying attention. I won't pull out all my hair, just part of it.

Re: Apogee on GOG.com!
well this does make the games avalable to an new generation without forcing people to play with dos box settings the games come with an pre configured dosbox exe just to run that game. id did the same thing on valve all episodes 1-5 of commander keen are up for sale for 4.99. wolf 3d and spear are also up at the same price. it seems to be an exclent business plan all of the costs of development are paid off for these titles and minimal effort is needed to configure the vm to run the apps.

With 3DR closing and the store going down, I think it would be a worthwhile investment for what is left of 3DR to look into getting most of their games on GOG. The site really kicks ass. I love being able to dl and play dos games.

Blast! I paid about $75, a couple of years ago, for that RR
pack. Now, all that they need to add is the racing game, and
the hunting game (for completionists).

You'll need a game pad for DN:MP. It's really good with one.
