XBL and PC?
Would it be possible for a patch to come out to let PC players play XBOX Live players? (I'm assuming probably not but thought I'd ask anyway)

3DR would need to re-release Duke Nukem 3D for PC, compatible with Game for Windows LIVE, so I guess not...

Are there already games for the XBox and PC that are cross-multiplayer compatible?

That's not going to happen. Not as far as I know.

That would also require a patch on the PC side too, it seems like too much work for minimal gain, although I don't make the decisions around here.

The dreamcast version of quake 3 arena allowed PC players to play with them

Did not know that. . .all the more pity goes to Sega for their failure to market the Dreamcast. . .pity on us as well since that system was the best; well beyond it's time. . .

The ability to play both console and PC competitors definitely didn't hurt the game, I'm sure it helped a lot actually.

I think that it would be unfair to mix the two though because PC has an advantage because keyboard and mouse > controller any day.

I thought the XBLA version was minimal work on the technical end. I say on that end cause I know you tested. .

Would be nice to have an offical port from 3DR though.

Minimal work FOR ME. Not for the programmers.

Making it cross platform would likely require going into the PC original and if not replacing, at least rewriting the network code. Again, a lot of effort for minimal gain - I don't see it happening.

Also it would take time away from the DNF team again right? We can't have that happen I say. ^^

Wow. Now thats probably the best idea I've ever heard...
Now if only that would happen in real life, 'cause I don't have an Xbox, and playing online is seriously limited to maximum 4 people at a time on DukesterX, and that is if you're lucky.
