Hyping up the DNF rumor and announcing Borderlands 2 will equal Gearbox eating crow, and planning it that way. Presumably even having caused the viral leak rumor and it's escalation rather than snuffing it. All for the benefit of some Duketards noticing their sequel...

They got something up their sleeve, DNF or Duke Begins is the likely scenario, and I assumed Duke Begins was shot dead.

This thread only started ELEVEN days ago... that is not long if you are busy with something. (like trying to find a developer for Duke Nukem Forever)

Here is my main point. Why is THIS speculation stamped out so quickly, but pages of "what we want to hear" speculation supported? (self answered question) I agree there is nothing supporting my purely hypothetical speculation as opposed to the insider comment from Gearboxs main man.

So I guess we are back to... George hasn't locked the thread... Why?
1. So we can vent some of our insano speculation?
2. Because he hasn't been watching the forum lately?
3. Because Duke Nukem Forever is being developed by GearBox?
4. Because of some other reason we don't even know about yet?
5. Other?

Most of this speculation is just like gambling... you are never "right", you just correctly guessed some odds. I don't think poker players ever jump up and do a table dance and say "I told you I would get another Ace... ha ha ha ha".

I am waiting for the dealer to deal along with alot of other people, which is why people saying either way is pretty annoying. The odds are odds and we don't even know how many decks of cards is in the game, so speculation is very unwise.

On second thought... I suppose for some people this is all entertainment, like a game, so for those people I guess all of this is a good thing. I come here for information, but over time "like getting sucked into a soap opera" you start to laugh at all these crazy people (e.g. Jobi) because they seem to at least be having fun. If someone is really enjoying it, I won't knock them for it, but so many people get so worked up telling others they are wrong etc... that is crap. But for those who are enjoying all of this drama, I guess it is really all good from that perspective.

You know, I have to agree with some of the users on here. If this rumor is false then why hasn't this thread been locked by now? I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything, but if I remember correctly didn't George lock a thread earlier this year followed by him telling us that we need to stop speculating? lol. I also remember that back in April of this year, somebody released never before seen footage of the game and made a trailer on the internet with the 3D Realms logo attached. George wasn't long shooting it down by saying the trailer was fake.

If this rumor is just another pile of shit to add to the history of DNF, it should have been denied by now. This all doesn't mean that I believe we see something at PAX. Maybe this rumor is denied at PAX. If this rumor is true, who knows if we even see anything at PAX? They could just be waiting for maybe E3 next year hahaha.

it was originally slated to go gold April 1, 2010. but TT got greedy when they saw how ground breaking Duke NUkem Forever really is.....

If they ARE working on it and even maybe planning to show a bit of it at PAX, they're probably a little hardpressed in finding time to squeeze it in amongst everything else they want to get done. From what I can tell, they only have an hour, that's not exactly all that long.

Yes its a great movie, many of Duke's one liner's are a homage to Ash. But back on topic:

All im saying is that description of the Gearbox panel is really just marketing. It's intriguing words to get people to have an intrest in the event.
