Bombshell game announced

Anyone else catch this today? Didn't see it posted anywhere on the forums.


The reveal trailer really doesn't show anything. It's also a far cry from where Bombshell originally came from. Not sure if I dig the top-down gameplay either.

Hopefully we'll get some gameplay footage soon. Really too early to tell at this point.

What does everyone think about it?

Bombshell's design is absolutely horrible

Make her look more natural, less skin and drop the half bald futuristic hairstyle BS and i might have some interest in the game but this is plain bad, so i guess i am going to give this a miss.

The character design is horrible and terribly uninspired.
Also, the animation is incredibly stiff and wooden. Added with the empty blank face... just meh.

And, with the trailer... I can see that it looks like they were trying to copy the DNF 2007 teaser. Problem is, they didn't do a teaser.
They did a 3 minute long "look at this character model" video. Where nothing happens.
That, and why does it just look like they just ripped off stuff?

Bombshell's design looks like a rip off of Jack from Mass Effect, and Fedorova from DX:HR. The opening of the trailer looks like a rip off of the DX:HR trailer where Adam is laying around watching the news and cracks his glass in his augmented hand.

And the bomb logo looks like a rip off of Croteam's Serious Sam logo.

That's going too far though. It looks completely different except for the bomb. And a bomb makes a perfect sense considering it's called Bombshell.

Considering when they udpated the site to just show the bomb...
There were countless posts and questions if Interceptor had gotten the rights to make a Serious Sam game.

Yeah, it is a bomb. Which is universal. But, it's the same with the nuke symbol... which people always instantly associate with Duke... even though it was used heavily for STALKER.
It's not surprising for gamers to connect something with what it's most know for being used for.

No... most people would only sit through a presentation like this one in hopes the video would get better or show some content maybe.

Personally, I would not have sat through the reveal video if I did not know some of the recent history of this "game" and 3D Realms relationship. Knowing it is a Top-Down shooter, I don't think most people would have. Top-down shooters are a lot of fun... to a very small group of people, in my opinion.

I am always open to change and I will only ever look back because this has the 3D Realms name on it... as much because I don't play Top-Down Shooters as the current content was very unappealing. This seems to be a view shared by many.

I swear I never considered it being a Serious Sam logo rip off... If anything, I was amazed at the not very impressive art in everything... the model, the game, the font as well... and of course, that thing they have for a 3D Realms logo... it looks like a joke(i.e. something made in MsPaint) at the end of the trailer.

They made a sequel to ROTT and then they got 3D Realms. Opportunity, they got many already, but they're wasting it with lack of ambition and direction.

I don't really see anything impressive.

The 3drealms logo once stood for quality. These days are clearly over.

Shows again the quality of the development team at 3drealms back in 2007, same concept of trailer. But that one was fantastic, and this is bad in every way possible...

I also believe they will try to take out everything they have in hands that might sell something! I just hope they will make them as good as Shadow Warrior... best 2013 game in my opinion. And there Flying Wild Hog at least kept the original 3D Realms logo! And it felt really good!

Buying 2 copies of the Balls of Steel edition Duke game for $200 was throwing money away.

I really don't see how anyone could come away with a positive impression after watching that announcement trailer. After the countdown ended, I was sure it was a prank.

It's not just Duke and 3DR fans who were disappointed. It's the worst received reveal in recent memory.

As a Star Trek fan, I'm really sick of producers who've used time travel to create tangential timelines so they can throw good canon right in the dumpster. It's been the basis of many episodes. X-Men fans everywhere must be having a "what other BS do we get" moment
