I don't hate you, nor blame you for being impressed with new technology and wanting it to be in DNF. I just really wish I had a real 3d realms developed duke game. We have all been waiting for 12 years. Seriously. Duke3D was the first video game I ever played and I'm sure many people are in the same boat. If you released Tetris with the grabbag song in the back ground, and called it duke nukem forever, we would all buy it. People can deny it if they want, but we just want something new. Seriously. I would rather play the old builds of DNF than Crysis2, Killzone2, the COD Franchise, or Gaylo.

******* a dude, just release slinging shit on a stick and call it duketurd. I promise it would ******* sale.

Hmm... DukeTurd... I think I have DooMTurd and QuakeTurd already, so that makes sense. <rolls eyes>

Passion without thought is annoying to me. Whatever. I knew I should not have clicked on this thread.

I think most anyone here would have liked a Duke Nukem game developed by 3D Realms... even if it wasn't epic. Cult followings on the scale of that of Duke Nukem 3D supersede the need for perfection as would be defined by George B... sometimes fun doesn't have to be perfect. (or Awesome, or KickAss, or whatever adjective was trying to be achieved by 3D Realms) George and others apparently lost sight of that... or that is what appears to have happened.

If the fans would settle for just anything (like DukeTurd) we would still be satisfied with TC's and add-ons for Duke Nukem 3D... and thousands of us still do enjoy these. More, better, etc would be (or would have been) great, but I don't think the fans demanded it, it was a choice by 3D Realms... in which George B seems to be getting all the blame for.

Quake II was a big step over Quake... Quake 3... I am not even going to start, most of us know how it went. Ending it here.

The point I believe is that a new epic (in terms of content) game is always great, but it isn't really required. 3D Realms chose the Epic path and that can be a really tall order sometimes.

I could be wrong, but I think the fans would have been satisfied with two or three "good" progressions between the next "epic" installment of the Duke Nukem series.

As for Shit on a Stick and DukeTurd, I don't think it is quite that simple.

I would have never registered on this board if it wasn't for the massive potential I saw in the game back then.
The epic nature of the older media and the plans 3DR had for the game were the reasons for my interest, anything less and I would have just shrugged my shoulders.

My 'problem' with Mr. Broussard is not that he dreamt big; it's that he obviously didn't have the management quality to turn his grand dream into reality (and perhaps reshape it to fit reality), either by direct control over the game or by taking a more hands-off approach and appointing the type of sub-management that was eventually installed in 2007.
What is a project lead if not a decision maker?

I dunno, he was generally pretty good at getting things done. Except in 2-part episodes where Captain Pollution would **** up the world and it would look like nothing could save us, but then Captain Planet would still manage to get it done by the end of part 2. Ah, the 90s.

Yeah, if you look past the surface, it's really a show about a man struggling to survive in a hostile world, wanting him dead.

FASCINATING.

They're remaking Duke Nukem and it's not going to be horrible.

A guy named Will Gif is going to make an appearance and Duke's not going to care about him.

The subtle hints were obvious.

GEORGE OWES IT TO ME!

HOW DARE HE HAVE PERSONAL INTERESTS WHEN i HAVE NO LIFE?

GEORGE BETRAYED MY FAITH IN 3DREALMS! IF DNF WAS A RELIGION IN THE MIDDLE AGES, IT WOULD BE LEGAL FOR US TO BURN HIM AT THE STAKE!
