Question Noob Question
Hi. I just purchased Duke 3D atomic addition and I have Eduke32 installed and I play with that but how do I play a Multiplayer game. I don't see an option for it in the In-game menu. So, what is the best way to play a LAN game and what is the best way to play over the internet? And will it all work with Eduke32? Thanks in advance,

I think the best choice for multiplayer is Dukonnector in http://duke3d.vachu.com/

DukesterX 1.5 is good too. They're now interlinked as far as I know so DukesterX players will be able to join/play in Dukonnector servers.

Re: Noob Question
id have to agree with devan... dukonnector allows quite a few more features like:
-global chatroom
-multi game support
-ranking system
-able to connect to both dukonnector and duksterX server

it actually only has one drawback =\ Thats that you cant send usermaps yet (yep i said yet)

edit: DukesterX cant host LAN games but dukonnecter can

I've always found Dukester to have a more attractive interface than Dukonnector visually.

ranking system
A ranking system? What's all this about? I haven't used Dukonnector for quite some time due to all the router crap but can someone fill me in on this?

multi game support
You mean NAM and WWII GI? They're basically just commercial Duke TCs, rename some files and it should work in DukesterX.

If DukesterX games appear in Dukonnector shouldn't Dukonnector games appear in DukesterX?

I personally find Hamachi the best for LAN games.

global chatroom
Well of course, DukesterX 1.5 is very outdated. I'm not sure since it's been a long time but didn't DukesterX 2.0 have a global chatroom..?

Re: Noob Question
- if you lose a match you can report if you both agreed prior to starting the game use this

- I mean like shadow warrior, blood, redneck rampage and any other build engine game plus the ability to play dos duke

- No, there are two different sever lists that can be refreshed, one for dukonnector and the other for duksterX

- why hamchi?

- I dunno if duksterX 2.0 had a global chatroom

dukkonector is OpenSource, all you have to do is open it in VisualWhatever++ and then edit it

Re: Noob Question
Anyways, to continue the point of the thread, you'll go through hell getting Multiplayer to work, or in some cases, NOT AT ALL, and then you have the trouble of finding someone to play with. THEN you have to keep in sync. -_-

Re: Noob Question
I never got it working, what with all the router crap. I went through all the guides many, many times and it didn't do anything.

I did manage to play one game with my bro, though... Dunno how we did that. I guess it was just luck.
