Re: Level Designers or Programmers
Just made this for a quick comparison between the new Dukes...

I don't see that much difference between Teaserduke and the new thumb, if you look at it closely. Just imagine Teaserduke turning his head slightly to the left in different lighting. (He does seem to have a longer face/different proportions but the angle could be the reason...)

Oh yeah, and don't call him Bruce Willis anymore, dammit. He never looked like Bruce, he looks like this...

He just holds in the cigar smoke earlier. That leads to the whole Bruce-like look. Which admittedly does look a little, well, weird...

Thought that had to be cleared up once more.

Obviously you're looking for more people because you have a goal. Don't want to start speculation, I'll just say good luck in reaching it...

I don't wanna say anything about the 360 experience required, but... look at me sig (no need to click the link, it's only a sucky DNF 360 boxart)

My take on McMaster's pic:

Far right:
Best shades, I like the defined crease between forehead and hair

Middle:
I don't like the shades. Too wide and thin.
Head looks shaped like a soup can with hair textured on, no hairline crease

Far left:
Hair is good, maybe a tad too short, needs a little more color
Shades, see above
Rest of his face looks alright, although the far right pic looks better somehow
Is it me or does his head look too small compared to the rest of his body?

This is just my opinion.

Dang it, I never did learn the unreal engine. I spent all my time modding far cry and crysis. It would be awesome to work at 3DR. I am waiting for Duke to learn unreal but I want to get into it now.

You're right. I'm glad to see DNF isn't afraid to show a wide color scheme, that speaks for itself about the general performance...

Rather Duke use a Colt 1911 than a Desert Eagle. The Colt is so much more awesome.

Am I the only gun nut here that noticed Dukes new handgun?

edit oh ok 1 comment on the new handgun.

Thats not the 1911 45. It is a modern 45 on the 1911 design.

The colt as you call it would hold 9 rounds and the desert eagle would hold 7. I fully hope 3dr gives us at least a 15 rnd mag.

Re: Level Designers or Programmers
no dude it is a 45 like a colt 45. It has a laser site on the bottom of it. The desert eagles may be the latter more powerfull guns in the game.

Duke is holding a new gun in the pic. It is a 45 with a laser sight. It resembles the hand gun from Duke 64.

Likewise. I'm pleased at the look of Duke Nukem in that thumbnail, but disappointed that the game is so far away that 3DR are now looking to hire programmers and level designers. Although maybe the programmers are for an Xbox360 conversion. Still, it does make DNF look even further from being finished.

Maybe you get a choice. That would be a nice extra. Not just a choice of various types of guns (i.e. a handgun, a shotgun, etc), but a choice of different guns of each type. Although that would make things harder for 3DR, because if they chose real-world models they would have to ensure they were correctly different from each other because some players would know not just the differences in appearance but the differences in performance.

Re: Level Designers or Programmers
Ah yeah dude it is a 45. It is probably the first handgun duke uses. The Desert Eagles would be more powerfull so I am guessing that Duke pics them up later that is if they are still in. I like the new handgun and Iam sure they probably have the laser on it working as well. Duke is looking alot better and more like Duke from d3d which is great. the Nevada desert in the background is screaming a Area 51 visit. It is looking good.

You'd like to learn UnrealEd, not the entire Unreal Engine.

Long ago I asked this, and someone gave a link to download an UnrealEd learning tool. I forgot how it is called though.

With that, you won't need to buy any Unreal-based game...

GB, why you guys don't create the desired team once for all and have the powah when u need it instead of hiring people from time to time.

btw, how is Duke Nukem doing? we missed him.

Well Syphilis, I don't think they're outsourcing it because they're asking for 360 programmers in the job app. If they were having another company handle it, they wouldn't have to worry about hiring console programmers.

I didn't expect anything like this, but I'm sure it's for a good cause.

The pic looks alright, as it shows a daytime scene, with what appears to be a desert. It could just be the angle (and perhaps the lighting) but his face looks different (again). Hard to tell as it's such a small shot though. It'd be cool to see a high res version of this.
