Bombshell and the bitchslap

So it has been confirmed that bombshell will be in DNF. Or did I dream that? Anyways who is this bombshell anyway? Is she Dukes main squeeze? Are we going to be able to play her in MP? Will she be a unlockable character? Are there any known pics of this babe?

I was just watching the Movie Small soldiers today and the part where the commandos find the Barbie dolls one of them says Bombshell and I looked at the TV thinking they were introducing a character but it was just a Barbie doll. Got me thinking about the Bombshell that is going to be in DNF.

How do you want Bombshell to be portrayed in the game? Should she be in it alot or just a little bit? How should she make her first appearance?

And I could not think of any role that Bombshell could have in the game.

The only thing I can recall that have been said about here is that she is the female equivalent of Duke and she is not into him so Duke obviusly asumes she is a lesbian. This is all very old info though so I wouldn't count on it to be relevant anymore. I belive the concept picture(s?) of the blond chick as well as the girl running around in the q2 version of the game is Bombshell but that might just be me asuming things.

Personaly I think it's all up to the implementation wheter I will like it or not. I do think the characters other then Duke needs to be more defined then before and if they can pull of Duke having some form of relation to another character, it could really bring out more of the Duke character. There is only so much he can say to him self for instancce.

Do you guys who do not want her to be in the game feel the same about Gus or General Graves? Might not be completly comparable as they may very well have a lot smaller roles then Bombshell though.

Edit: I really doubt you will ever be playing her in the single player game. That would be a rather odd design desicion for a Duke game to say the least.

The last time I'm aware of Bombshell being shown was the 1998 E3 trailer.

I don't believe we've confirmed anything, whether she's in or out.

I dont want any partners, teammates or sidekicks. Duke is a one man show. I dont want to have some dumb bitch that I have to save, that has to save me, that I have to follow, that has to follow me, that gives me mission updates from some command center, that I have to worry about accidentally killing, that gets in my way at all.

If you speak to bombshell, the cross hair should involuntary move down to her bazongas with camera zoom in and heavy breathing soundfx.
When she asks for attention, it should snap back to her face for a moment before moving down again.

Whats the worst that could happen if you do give us some DNF plot info? Do you think we'll start over-hyping it? Its seriously to late for that.

no Joe i wasent expecting any official info about bombshell just yet but thought it would be interesting to have a discussion about her in the meantime.

I like the idea of Bombshell being in the game. At the very least she should be a fun character to run around with in MP. I would like different versions of her in the MP as well such as a war torn camo Bombshell, bikini Bombshell and perhaps a stripper version of Bombshell. I think there is room for a female lead role in the Duke universe and trust you guys at 3DR to implement her involvement in DNF in a non cheesy way.

I don't see what the complaint is. In the 98 video, she only seemed to have a partial involvement in the game, kind of like the G Man in the original Half-Life.

Have her pop up from time, either help or hinder, then quickly vanish again. Have the player guessing to the very end as to her true motives. Is she a good guy or a bad guy?

In the end she could be very similar to Duke, but fed up of living in his giant shadow. She wants to be the one to save the earth all by herself, earn a name for herself. That's why she's constantly hindering Duke. Sometimes she inadvertently helps instead though. Just a thought.

I don't buy into the whole "it should only be Duke" thing. As cool as Duke is, it would be equally cool to have interesting characters around him too. I think Bombshell could classify.

If it's done right, and she's not overbearing then I won't really have an issue with it. I wouldn't mind some recurring characters through the game, and maybe she could fit the bill. We'll just have to wait and see.

I just watched the old trailer on you tube and it looked like Duke was following her around as if she was showing him something. I know things will prolly be different in the real DNF but I have no probs with Bombshell and it could be nice having a companion for parts of the game.

The question is how will Duke met up with her? It will be nice if she is an employee at the EDF facility or something. Some kind of situation where she has knowledge of something that Duke is interested in. If she is just some random babe that manages to kick ass alongside Duke the cheese factor may be relevant during gameplay, something I think we may be worried about. Anyways I am sure if she is in the finale cut then there will be a MP skin or skins available for play which is a good thing cuz then maybe my girlfriend will play with me until I shoot her in the face

Should not be like Alyx. She was perfect in HL but a character you was supposed to care for and it doesn't really fit to DNF. But it could work like ??? in Resident Evil 4. Even to unlock a 4 hours extra game playing with Bombshell seeing the story from another viewpoint

Hey dudes come on be nice. Remember that no other game developers have been through the amount of pressure and stress as 3DR. Iam sure none of you will be that pissed if bombshell needs some help in the game. It is still Duke and bombshell appearance shouldnt be that bad. Just think of her as another set of tits running around with the exception that this set carries a gun.

I personally don't see what all the fuss is about. I think I'll be annoyed if it is only just Duke. I really would like to see Bombshell in the game, maybe not as Alyx of HL2 fame, but it would be interesting to have somebody other than Duke.
