If you could update SW, what would you do
Shadow Warrior kicks lots of bootie! It just struck me the other day, what would I do if I could change the game/update it.

Well you all remember that one level where you swim under the cliff that has the Kevlar vest and you come up to a load of dead bodies and a cute little bunny that reminds us of Monty Pythons Quest for the Holy Grail. Well what if you could pick up the grail and squeeze the blood from the rippers heart; and instead of getting another Lo Wang to kick butt for you, the bunny with the big teeth from MPQftHG? I would die laughing, because. . . "That's No Ordinary Bunny!"

Also, it would wail on a lot of tail if instead of fighting with just Duke in DN3d, having both Duke and Lo Wang do it together in both games. Have like an opening scene where they both go on vacation for a little R&R after their battles (SW & DN3D or DN4) and they both decide to fight side by side.

So, What would you do?. . .

I'd use the Unreal or Prey engine for the game. And I'd give Lo Wang some weapons of a magical nature, say a weapon in the form of a martial arts instruction book, picking up which enables him to shoot fireballs from his hands a la Street Fighter. Oh, yes -- very important -- I'd make him able to KICK.

Some of the powerups would be changed in appearance and a couple new ones added. In place of the red-cross box for the health powerup, I'd perhaps substitute a ginseng root -- more of the traditional atmosphere, right? Itching powder oughta be fun for a ninja to use. Finally I'd put in more authentic-looking traditional East Asian game environments and add some creatures from Chinese and Japanese mythology, say dragons (What else?).

Ah well, as if that'll ever happen...

Well I would make sure the multiplayer stays as fun as it is now. I love getting a group of friends at my house, to play Shadow Warrior on my LAN. As a matter of fact we used to do it every weekend. But now we play Age of Empires 2. Thems were the days.

More weapons, realistic and magical like and good multiplayer support (as in ip games). Shadow warrior with full internet support, a 3d engine and more weapons....what more could you possiblely want?

I agree with you.
SW has a mysticism, while DN3D not (at least, not like SW).
Besides that, SW weapons are far more better than those in DN3D - especially the physics.
All strong SW weapons have those "push-back" feel when you activate them.
That's very cool.

Thats your opinion. I myself own duke3d but i hardly ever play it, on the other hand i own shadow warrior and it's almost always been on my hard drive. Anyways duke4ever is coming out isn't it?. Ain't that enough?

Yeah! I can see it now! They both meet for the first time on an airplane and the aliens shoot it down. Then, Zilla sends his men to attack Wang and Duke! That would be awesome!

Uhh, why would u wana use the prey engine? It's never been completed, and is very dated now.

I'd have more of the John Woo style city levels and less of the silly Monkey Magic style fantasy levels.
