I was playing Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel until a storm knocked out my power.

Anyways, initial thoughts are that mostly same-old, if you liked Borderlands 2 then it's pretty much the same except that you are fighting Australians in space.

Just finished Saints Row IV. Wow...that was a rather interesting adventure. Certainly a lot different twist from previous installments. Never thought they were going to go all sci-fi and Star Trek on us, but... I guess Deep Silver and Volition had their reasons.

This appears to be the norm right now. Dramatically long waiting queues for the high population servers. I logged out a couple of hours ago to have dinner, and I have regretted it for the past hour. Comes with the territory I suppose

Flight Simulator X: Sudbury to Toronto-Pearson Intl

Testing out this new patch for an addon I use which adds updated vector data as of 2014 (roads, lakes, etc) for Canada and the US.

Been playing Far Cry 4, the game is absolutely gorgeous but it is nearly a carbon copy of Far Cry 3, an exotic far away land ruled by a psycho dictator and it takes an american to liberate it, same old... same old. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. A lot of the mechanics are lifted straight out of FC3, radio towers are now bell towers and outposts are now... well outposts but you now can liberate fortresses.

But why oh why can't Ubisoft do vehicles? The cars handle like absolute arse, mercifully there is now an autodrive function, sort of like fast travel, also there is a gyrocopter sort of thing but i haven't tried it out yet.

If you liked FC3 than you should like this game.

Been playing FarCry 4 myself.
I'm loving it, despite some of the little "issues" in the PC version. But, hopefully they'll get smoothed out with updates.

Just finished my second playthrough of Far Cry 4, BS because Ubisoft doesn't believe in replaying missions so to get both endings you have to play the game twice and the balance of power missions offer nothing towards the game other than how a mission is played out.

The sense i get is that maybe Pagan Min isn't the most psychotic person in Kyrat.

Early Access with a couple of friends, while waiting for the Talos Principle on Thursday. What an amazing game - full of explosions, destruction and mayhem... kinda like Duke Nukem was T_T. Therefore recommended.
The netcode is not good yet though. (normal for its state)

There is a SP and local co-op Free version on Steam with fewer testosterone-characters than Broforce called The Expendabros, you 've got to try it out to get a taste of the experience... it's ridiculously good xD

Just finished Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines. Just started Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty. Have played them and Commandos 2 before. I will probably press on to Commandos 3 in due time.

Stopped playing Alien: Isolation. The more I played it, the more I really started to hate it. Mostly the interface, which I think is really unhelpful and inconsistent. (i.e. removing a door jack is 'E', then LMB+RMB, then 'A' ? I know some developer like to give the illusion of the "hands-on" experience, but this is the "needlessly annoying" experience. And if you open a different kind of door, it's LMB+RMB, then 'S'? WHY?).

Also, most of the items you can craft are useless (except for medkits) and actually draw the alien's attention to you, which you REALLY don't want. Flamethrower fuel is almost non-existent and the flamethrower goes through it like a tsunami. (And you can collect 'ethanol' but you can't make your own flamethrower fuel?). I really love the art direction in this game. They nailed the environment and the alien is terrifying. It's a shame that PC users can't get a decent port these days without having to deal with save points and a "one size fits all" console interface.

I've got an overabundance of flamethrower fuel.

And the save system isn't a matter of platform, they decided to do it that way. No checkpoints, no quick save... only the save stations.

I found it to be one of the better PC port/releases this year. Great performance, amazing visuals, responsive controls.

I've given each of these games equal time, and I love all three. For very different reasons.
My only disappointment... is the lack of a truly "scary" horror game. The Evil Within is great, but it's not scary. Atmospheric, visceral and gory... but not scary.
Alien isn't scary either. Tense, ungodly atmospheric and again... tense. But, not scary.
