Phayzon: I have an ATI 9600, and yes, I have the CD in.
WarHammer: No, to the best of my knowledge the majority of the stickybombs have exploded some distance away from me. |

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
I belive the music playback uses the cd audio output of your cd drive so if you don't have one or it's not plugged into your soundcard you will not get any sound.

I never saw why it was done in the first place... Wouldnt it be just like playing music from your harddrive, you dont need that cord for that...

Hey is there anyway to make work the original Shadow Warrior? Like for DN3D port, you can set the original render. Can we in Shadow warrior? I try to lunch the game right after it installed, without the port, but nothing happens.

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
Open the file sw.cfg in a plain-text editor, such as Notepad. Find the line "ScreenBPP = 32" and change the value to 8. Save and SW should launch in 8-bit classic mode.

Yes - I noticed that. I posted an unfinshed model a few days ago but despite there being no answer there's even just 4 downloads so far... that's really few.
The Duke Forums are still alive but SW seems stuck |

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
Do maphacks work for JFSW? I tried making one for Seppuku Station to fix the hat thingy to the right of where you start, but it didn't work. I am sure I have the right sprite id, and I named it $BULLET.mhk. Nothing showed up in the .log file.
Here's the contents: Code:
// Map hack file for JFSW // Created by Hendricks266 // Level: $BULLET.MAP - "Seppuku Station" sprite 764 angoff 512 // Helmet |

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
We really need some sort of ESW32. With all the improvements EDuke32 has over JFDuke3D and JFShadowWarrior I can barely tollerate playing the vanilla JonoF builds anymore.

I guess the same stuff that Eduke32 added to Duke, only for SW

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
The main thing that EDuke32 improves on is... CON coding. I guess he wants the engine to be updated more often, with things like better menus, easier quick save, etc. You could try SWP, but that isn't that different from vanilla JFSW. Here is the feature list for SWP from its website.

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
Map hacks, improved alpha transparency, the various additions to the in-game menu - such as the options to adjust your rendering and control settings without having to completely exit out of the game. Also any bug fixes you have made to EDuke32 that could also apply to Shadow Warrior. SW still has a major bug which causes the game to crash every other time you die...or at least I think, seems my SWP is out of date.

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
Im using 1.2 shareware of SW and JFShadowWarrior binaries 20051009.
I cant strafe left, right and mouse look left, right at the same time. This results in not being able to circle strafe. Is there going to be any new updates to JFShadowWarrior? Its been over a year since last release. |

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
Does JFShadowWarrior understand the same DEF commands availalable in JFDuke? Or does it use it's own set of commands for the DEF files?

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
I am pretty certain that the commands are the same; the format used may or may not be supported though. JonoF has instructions somewhere out there.

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
Another bug: in the ship level, hmm, the one with sailor moon anime girl, let me see... yes, 18 - Floating Fortress, when you enter the ship from below and must start the pumps, you can climb on the pump, and from there jump on the machinery next to the wall, the one wich is lower than you. It's like a ledge and when you jump on it you go through it and the wall, and fall to the bottom of the sea, where you break and die... Maybe it will help.
Is there any way to get a layered map in map mode like in Outlaws, so overlapping sectors will not be just a confusing bunch of textures? Or any other solution to this problem? JonoF? In the next release? Although I fear that this cannot be fixed... Anyway, do not lose your faith, forum guys, as far as I know, as of summer 2007 JonoF has not abbandoned SW, I mailed him for some help with JFSW and he was still at it. At least, I hope he was... |

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
I recently bought the game.
Had some serious sound issues with JonoF's port. Which is a bummer, the duke port was awesome. Anyway, might not be pretty but SW runs rather well with dosbox on my 64bit system. |

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
Yeah, I think I may probably revive Shadow Warrior instead of Duke 3D now, don't ask me why... This game really brings the Build engine to perhaps the best that it can get, bar none...
Glad that JonoF was on the ball with this when he accepted the source code from 3DR. EDIT: Also, I can't tell which version of SW I'm running, but it keeps telling me that art is not found to check the .GRP file, and it IS the native .GRP file from the CD-ROM. I recopied the .GRP file about three times, and I still get that message... Does it HAVE to be the v1.999 CD-ROM? I can't even tell which version I'm running now... EDIT #2: N/m, Vista Compatibility Wizard caught it, just needed to have it "reinstall to recommended settings." That fixed it. Welcome to the world of 64-bit OSes, I suppose... Only other in-game bug is that, for example, in the first level with that arcade car thingy with the silver key, it seems like I can't see anything on that security monitor other than "snow" when it should be showing that camera scene from the go-cart remote rides.

Re: JFShadowWarrior is available (updated 20051009)
SW runs well on my machine (using JonoF's 31 may 2005 port and HRP ver 1.2). Am I way out of date? I have no sound probs at all (keep forgetting to put CD in for music is my only problem).

Swp is what you should use. Swp is newer and far advanced from JFSW old build.
