Re: Duke Nukem Fan Wiki
Wiki is going great... starting to really take shape now.
I'm just wondering two things: 1) Does anyone have a Duke archive they wouldn't mind sharing? I'm rebuilding mine and would love for some help. 2) Does anyone have all the action figures in good condition still in their packaging? If so I have a favour to ask. |

Re: Duke Nukem Fan Wiki
I have the most common action figures, yes. There are some ultra rare versions out there that I once saw something about, like a Christmas version of the Duke figure.
Although I'm wondering what crap like this is doing on a wiki.

Re: Duke Nukem Fan Wiki
I've created a blog series I'll be writing while I'm working on this wiki. It actually chronicles what I'm working on for this thing but if your a Duke fan you may find it interesting as I'll talk about some neat things I've uncovered and little stories here and there that you won't find on the wiki (well you will...soon). I'd love some feedback from the community.
You can find the first blog HERE |

Re: Duke Nukem Fan Wiki
Need everyone's opinion on this page on what to add or if the images are too much... stuff like that. Pretty much name anything that comes to mind even if its a bad idea just so I can take it all in to see if its worth putting in. I'm trying to form a general layout for all levels of all the Duke games and what will be contained within those articles.

Re: Duke Nukem Fan Wiki
How do you add weapons and links to enemies in other games.
Then add pictures of some enemies on the article you would write up, I could add more info for some Duke games. You know you click on a weapon then it takes you to another page for more info.

Re: Duke Nukem Fan Wiki
To do stuff like this you want to do this:
Typing [[Mighty Boot]] for example will end up being displayed Mighty Boot once its saved. If the text is red it means the page does not exist that it's linking to. If you know for a fact a page on the Mighty Boot exists you may want to check what the page is called. For instance the page itself may be called "Mighty Boot (DN3D)" since it may be talking about ONLY the Duke Nukem 3D Mighty Boot which means you'd have to go back and add the (DN3D) to [[Mighty Boot]] to make it work... but then it will be shown as "Mighty Boot (DN3D)" which you probably won't want to be displayed like that in the article and you may want it to simply say "Mighty Boot" so what you want to do is type [[Mighty Boot (DN3D)|Mighty Boot]] with the first part being the page name you want to link to and the second part being how you want it to be shown in the article. As for how to upload a picture... on the side panel before editing an article it says "Upload a new Photo" click that to upload photo's... if you want it to be displayed in an article go to the article and make sure you have your... text line thing... wherever you want the picture to be in the article and then click on the little picture frame which will give you an option to upload or browse... click browse then click the image you want to be displayed and voila! If you want the picture to the left or right simply type the word left, right, or center after the word "|thumb|" make sure it's after the | and before the ]]. Hope that covers what you asked if not just give me a shout. |

Re: Duke Nukem Fan Wiki
It's a looooooong way from where I'd like it to be quality wise but the community working on it is slowly adding to it.
I'm starting to work closely with another guy to get the page designs the way we want so that we have model pages for the community to work with. I have sadly not touched the wiki in a few days for the first time since I started it... I'll hop on the bandwagon again this week. Really appreciate the support from everybody as it is something for you guys. P.S. if anyone keeps archives of Duke information or any images, files, etc. send me a PM as it would be a great help if you could share them with me. |
