I'd really like to hear if anyone knows anything, or can find anything out from 2k, about how the UK is affected by the pre-ordering campaign. Can we get the CE and figurines or are we just left out in the cold? I know what I'd put my money on

We had Electronics Boutique for years but now they are "GAME" here and aren't ever mentioned or included by EB Games. GAME's shop site for the UK.

The pre-order page has been updated with versions of the pewter figures that were taken at 3DR HQ today. There are front and back views of all three figures available. These are the actual figures you'll receive when you buy the game. The ones that appeared in the 2K press release last night were some sort of prototype figure. The telltale sign is those pictures have no "base" on them - pewter figures always have a base.

Well, looks like Amazon says July 10th as a release date, dunno if I should really believe that, but it's worth the preorder (let's hope it won't be an empty preorder like those DNF ones were)...

Thanks for checking that Mr. Siegler, well I'll see if Gamestop will have the CE soon, as I think they do international shipping, (I nearly got Psychonauts from them last year but then saw I could get a signed copy from Doublefine themselves), but so others know Amazon.com won't ship games internationally. At least not to the UK.

I guess if I preorder right from the company, and get the LCE edition, the whole kit and kaboodle comes with, if I understand correctly...

Well, from what I can gather, the pre-order program and the LCE edition are North American items only. Waiting on confirmation from 2K on that.

That may be, but our EBgames stores here are not up to par. I couldn't change my pre-order for the CE of FEAR until the very last minute.

I know that, it's just that I asked the guy at the store, and he said he wasn't sure.
Then he went on saying that we here don't get all the special offers as the stores in the states.
Although is says N.America, it could be that very few stores up here will stock up on the figures.

I really do hope they get a collector's edition going in Europe. I'm told that most retailers don't like them in Europe due to the divergence in skus. I DO know that the Western European versions will all be DVD, and that they are going with a thin style metallic box (similar to the special edition Halo 2 box that was sold in the US). We've asked that they do whatever they can to make a LCE happen in Europe. I hope they do, but we just don't know yet.

I remember Blizzard had an arrangement with http://www.gameplay.co.uk for WoW back in '04/'05 which included the huge CE that they did, and Gameplay deliver to Europe last time I checked their site. They've always stocked the larger CE's such as the CoV CE and the Guild Wars and more recently Guild Wars: Factions CE, but with all apart from WoW I think everywhere else have done also. I don't know if that site was worth mentioning at all or not, but I thought it was relevant with the talk of a really nice CE and Europe distribution.

Thanks for chasing up 2k for more detailed information though guys.

Ahh, ok so the whole press release was North America only. As long as it's on DVD I am happy. I would be more happy with the CE though.

The LCE isn't an indefinite product. It won't be available permanently.

About the soundtrack download... it's from DirectSong right? That's gonna be a pain to get onto my iPod. First burn the WMA (DRMed right?) if the license allows (it should right?) and then rip, and then add all the ID3 Tags. Oi.
