Re: Max Payne Theme Piano Notes
There's no need to bump an older topic if you just READ it. There's one with the notes for the full theme posted. Just search and read.

Re: Max Payne Theme Piano Notes
How can you not get past a certain part if you've read the post with the full notes?
Or are you saying that you don't possess the skill required to play the theme so it sounds right, even though you know all the correct notes? Because if that's what you mean, I'm afraid no-one can help you.

Re: Max Payne Theme Piano Notes
Does anyone have a guitar tab for the MP1 or MP2 theme songs? If so, could they please post it.

Re: Max Payne Theme Piano Notes
Well.. I know how to play the piano part on the guitar, but I've never tried the guitar part (not that the guitar part is really very hard or anything, it's quite simple really).
But if it's the piano part you want to play, just follow the notes for it. Simple, eh? No need for tabs.

Re: Max Payne Theme Piano Notes
Oh wow, I'm feeling really nice, so here are the notes. I didn't bother marking stuff like C-1, C-2 etc. but I'm sure you people can figure that stuff out.
part 1: C Eb F G C G Bb G Eb B G# G D G D Eb B C Eb F G C G Bb G Eb B G# G D G D Eb part 2: F F G G# D B G Eb D F F G G# D C B A B And oh, I didn't bother checking it twice, but I'm sure it's all there.

Re: Max Payne Theme Piano Notes
READ CAREFULLY.
Someone asked the same question, 3 months ago, so I dug this up for you. Hey - Big Music Buff here, The Notes are: (Flats are represented by small b's and Sharps as #.... - C is middle C - C' is an octave up, C, is an octave below.) C Eb F G C' G Bb G Eb B, Ab, G, D G, D Eb, (Repeat with a B, at the beginning) F, F, G, Ab, D B, G, Eb D F, F, G, Ab, D B, G, D, Eb, F, F, G, Ab, D B, G, Eb D F, F, G, Ab, D C B, A, B, (Then repeat everything an octave higher and then end on the C) Any other problems just e-mail. (I do this stuff all the time. I even do ringtones for Uni Students. - Sadly enough ) Peter J These notes are right. I'm sure of it and double checked. They're definately right. Quote: Nessus "I was going to post a correction but piano man beat me too it. Ahswins is right except for the 3rd line, there are some mistakes there but piano man has it correctly." |

Re: Max Payne Theme Piano Notes
Are you sure you've got that right, piano_man?
F, F, G, Ab, D B, G, Eb D F, F, G, Ab, D B, G, D, Eb, F, F, G, Ab, D B, G, Eb D F, F, G, Ab, D C B, A, B, I bolded out the extra in what you wrote for when that part plays for the first time. The theme goes: Part 1 Part 1 Part 2 Part 1 other stuff (mostly strings and guitar) piano_man's second part Part 1

From the original thread (real easy to find; just punch in "theme" in the search option).

Re: Max Payne Theme Piano Notes
Sorry, you may be right. I haven't heard the piece in over a year, but I think the first time it plays, it doesn;'t have those bolded notes. The second time however when that part comes back, then it has those notes.
PS, the ringtone isn't completely right. There are a few wrong notes and the Low Bass notes are way off. You might need to fix them simon. I could do the complete Theme song soon if you want, guitar and all. I can't do it now however, as I have exams, but when they're done, I can do it properly. |

Hmm... you almost make me want to reinstall my midi composer and crack this one open again! --==EDIT==-- Okay, I see what you mean. I just broke off my file at the second part instead of finishing it with a C. They're not way off, I just used major chords instead of minors. Fixing it now... --==EDIT==-- Fixed! Put it up on my music page. Thanks for the correction! I feel so stupid for letting such obvious mistakes slip. (minor chord, Simon, MINOR! That means G tone, not B flat!)

Here's something to chew on, just something small.
Done some of the Max Payne Midi, needs a bit more work, and that will come soon. Just tell me what you think so far. |

Re: Max Payne Theme Piano Notes
SOrry, about that, didn't realise that. I must have accidently added a glissando without realising it.
I'll have the proper thing done maybe in the next week. (Sorry, but exams are on.) I'll probably do the same for the Max Payne 2 Theme as well as late Goodbye. GIves me a challenge. |

Still working on it...
So far, I've worked on it for almost an hour. I have a bit more instrumentation and tried to make it sounds as close to the original as I can (with my incredibly crap Sound card. )
I'll do bits of it while I can get to it. Hopefully it will turn out great, I just wish I know the complete instrumentation from Remedy or 3DRealms or from somebody. |

Re: Still working on it...
First file is okay, except for that wierd note effect near the end. Second file is not a midi file. Can't read it.

God, I can't seem to get the attachment thing right any time, but here it is. In Midi Format. Sorry about that guys, and I'd probably ignore the first attachment. This one is the best so far.
Stilol working on it. |

Re: Still working on it...
Is there something wrong with the file? It's twice as long as it should be, and the last half of it is silent. Anyway, sounds good so far, except that the strings completely drown the piano. You can't hear anything. Overall, there's virtually no volume gain. I had to crank up everything to maximum, (midi, master volume and speakers) to hear something. And even that wasn't much. But as far as the actual song goes, great! I don't think I heard one wrong note.
Keep it up.

Re: Still working on it...
MIDI file sounds OK, the piano is excellent, but, some chords don't really sound right. Good job on piano. Personally I think that the other instruments only roughly match with the piano.
It's a pretty good job with MIDI file overall. |

Re: Still working on it...
Sorry, right after my post I figured the problem out I can play the whole thing now, but y'know in the real theme -- What about the break where it's all the instruments? Is there a left hand to this?

Re: Still working on it...
In the middle, it's just the instruments and the piano doesn't play for a while.
I'm trying to write out the piece exactly as it is instrumently. |

Re: Still working on it...
Quick question, is it worth me doing this Max Payne Theme, I'm just wondering if people still want it, it just seems like nobody cares?
Any feedback on the Late Goodbye Piano Theme notes? Anyone like it or hate it? |

Re: Still working on it...
I would love a full MP midi theme.
Also the Late Goodbye midi is ok but it sounds very different to the actual proper track for some reason. |

Re: Still working on it...
I mean are there any left hand notes during the piano sequences? Even if it replicates teh instruments playing in the back for the left hand, or like in your MIDI cellphone ringtone -- But I want it to be a bit more professional if you know what I mean...

Re: Still working on it...
Hey Doomed...
Thats because I only did the part played by the cleaner in the Upper east side level in the hotel apartments. I'll do a proper one in the next couple of days. I just have one more exam and I am FREE FOR 3 WEEKS. And Eidos... DId you just want a Piano reduction of the piece? Is that what you meant? (No violins or anything like that? - Just piano?) |

And yes, I just want a 'piano reduction' of the piece. Is it possible for you to make it simple (which means, don't make it a level 8 piece which I can't play)? |

Re: Still working on it...
When I finish the instrumental version, it will be easier to make a Piano Reduction from that, so you might have to wait a bit longer, but also, what level are you - just so I know, it's just if you ask me to do a real easy piano version and someone else wants me to do a Damn hard version, it's going to be (sorry to say) annoying doing two versions.
If any one wants a Piano Version, tell me what grade you are or how long you've been playing, so I get the vast majority. PS Sorry about getting your name wrong... I'm hopeliss with seplling |

Re: Still working on it...
Haha, I'm like in level four or five in piano. But if the piano piece isn't TOO hard, and I'm devoted to it (which I am) -- then I should be able to play it.
