I respect your work you've put into the rtcm. It's not about your english (my is much worse). You just gave some good TCs a two or three stars (Last Reaction & Water Bases, Fusion, Starship Troopers, Ages In Time) while some average addons have three stars too. But it's all just based on opinions...

Honestly from what I've played from LR&WB I can understand the (to most people) surprisingly low rating. I tried to play it not that long ago, started off with the first episode but got stuck without ammo or health and with plenty of enforcers and such in small indoor areas.. in the first level.

/ragequit

Never bothered to play the rest after that. That may be petty of me but if I would, say, play an actual retail game, I'd expect the game to at least be playable. I don't hold Duke3D mods to the standards of retail games, but I do also expect playability out of it.. and if the very first level fails that, then, well...

Re: Hosting hard to find TC's
I don't mind a mod being hard but when I keep getting killed over and over again because of poor ammo to aliens ratio or get stuck in a level because a switch or key is too well hidden then that ruins it for me. I want to have fun, not get so frustrated I want to smack my monitor. Good gameplay and level design are what I consider the most important parts of any game.

The ratings I gave the mods were based on my first play through. If I had played a mod a few times in a row then rated it the rating could have been different because I would be more familiar with the level design and gameplay of the mod.

Of course the rating's are just my opinion but I provided a way for people who may disagree with my review/rating to submit a review of their own and I will add it right to the download page.

Have to agree on the playability issue. Last Reaction levels are way too hard to start with although they do get easier after the first ridiculously hard level. No doubt about it there is some very pretty scenery starting with lvl3 onwards,

Waterbases the second level in the TC seem to be a lot better designed and playable, and again lots of eye candy and original designs.

That may well be true but I prefer to play games "chronologically" - meaning level-by-level, episode-by-episode. I don't like skipping ahead. If I can't beat a map I'm not going to cheat to get past it and I'm not going to just skip to the next episode. I'm just going to be harsh (or shallow, whatever) and label it as "overrated" and be done with it.

You guys didn't pass the first level because you stink. I played it for the first time in 1999 and had no trouble even though there was a location or two where you're badly out of ammo.

Your loss.
