Idd Crunchy, Console ports are killing the games industry with games that are threw together for a money spinner. Take Soldier of Fortune:Payback as a prime example. A great franchise dead.

Though I don't know what you're scared of - I haven't heard/seen any evidence of a console port yet. Or have I missed something?

It would be a mistake for them to do it primarily with a console in mind, but it would be silly not to port it to consoles as well at some point. Many of them should be capable of running the game without too much additional effort, and if graphics features are optional (hoping so, as it means more PC users can play) then any port that runs slow can just turn it off and be patched later if developers find a way to do it.

Duke resorting to putting people on a space ark to reproduce, and having to use a slingshot to shoot food into their mouths to put them to sleep. And all the humans are trying to kill you while awake.

The difference is that you can get one computer to do lots of things. Different consoles have different games, and often you'll want to play games from more than one console. Sure, computers need to be "topped up" every so often, but in the end computers are so much more useful.

And I wasn't whining and crying, by the way. I was just saying I'd be amused if no console versions were released, thus forcing people to return to their word processors in order to play possibly the greatest game ever. Perhaps it's sadistic, but we're talking Duke here.
