Re: The DNF bug/error reporting thread
it's the worlds most perfect game to some! to others, it's just like any other game when it comes to expectations, never jump in with em high! slowly wade in with your expectations low. :P

that's the best way to think. I never have super high expectations for ANYthing. Before GTA IV all I expected was that it was classic GTA with some updated graphics (take mind I never watched any Gameplay vids, just trailers) and when I finally got to play the game, I was friggin shocked to find out that it had the best physics engine I'd ever seen, and greatly improved shooting action from other installments, and a PROPER NY setting. But everyone else? Half of the people cried that it didn't have all of the stupid little side-missions and little features that San Andreas had. It seems like they completely ignored the fact that this game was rebooting itself in a big way, hence why it was named GTA IV and not GTA (insert subtitle here). I was so apalled by the reinvention of the gameplay, I never even noticed before these people brought it up. Their expectations were huge, and they got let down by them. |

Re: The DNF bug/error reporting thread
I don't know what you guys are "joking" about, but I think the game is great.
I'll admit, though... Having to pick wedgies often to circumvent Duke's discomfort level from rising, and thus handicapping the player, gets a bit distracting in the middle of an intense battle.... But just make sure you buy a pair of trousers that fit at the beginning of the game and it's all good. (also, if you can resist the urge to trim Duke's fingernails, you'll have some awesome claws by the end of the game that you can slash up the final boss with.) |

I had this problem with the pc version, wouldn't work without specified driver is what the error said. But I had a problem finding out what the specified driver was. Makes no sense. great game but they could have worked out some of the bugs. Kind of l4d2ish, but still the maps are a bit like the first one. the game evolved since duke 3d. It's completely different like duke nukem advance. It still has a nice touch of course, and awesome fight shooting sequences. Great and different at the same time. let me know when they patch out that bug. I can download the patch, right? THANKS |

Re: The DNF bug/error reporting thread
Goddamnit, I'm having trouble scratching my ass while watching Cops. I have to do so while still eating a continuous flow of Cheetos but I have to scratch the itch before the rage meter builds up to the point of Duke kicking his TV screen in. It doesn't help that when the Cheetos run out I have to rip open a new bag using all of the shoulder buttons on the controller either. I keep presing B, A, B, A, B, A, and then I rotate the left movement stick, but he won't scratch! I've spent over 500 DukeDollars on new TVs so HELP! What's the problem!?!?

Re: The DNF bug/error reporting thread
HELP STUCK
I'm at the part where I'm beheading Broussard with the Daikatana as he screams in slobbish drunken vigor that he has no respect for the fans, even the delusional (as he put it, "retardedly insane") hold-outs who will keep holding out for another 12 years as the the rest of humanity watches and laughs, but the false hope generators seem to have him in a state of invincibility! All the faqs I look up are just pictures of flaccid penises and furry porn. Also I can't seem to get past the fact that the game looks like it's four years old, graphics wise, and is probably just another corridor shooter with an icon that stopped being relevant over a decade ago. Seriously, apparently Duke was a parody of a movie that stopped being popular EVEN LONGER ago! But that's not true right? Also the part where Jobi is running away from the people whom he owes money too is pretty frightening considering how pissed off people seem to be about the bets they made and him failing to pay up. Oh no wait, that's real life. Jobi, where's my money? |

He's obviously playing on the PS3/XBOX crossover machine collaborated exclusively for DNF, which is region-exclusive to Mars.

Re: The DNF bug/error reporting thread
Region exclusive as long you don't import. Sheesh. What cretin doesn't have the Xbox-Station Thrii: DNF Edition? You just gotta be sure to get the translator chip, available in most dystopian futures for the low-low cost of -murflmurpha- dollars and your -cough-immortal soul-cough-.

Re: The DNF bug/error reporting thread
Sorry for messup I am just using Sony`s terminology - the pad I have is of course standard issue Microsoft Xbox360 controller exclusively made for Poland from squirrel shit, dried toilet paper and kalashnikov rounds on soviet steel springs.

1. George cannot be killed - he can be only ignored and forgotten, just lure him into some room with cheese nachos or hot burrito and shut door with any type of keycard. Remember those can`t be any oridinary doors (only thick steel walls) because smell of cheddar and sweaty socks will kill Duke in closed space. 2. I think You forgot to turn DNF2006 graphics option off in the settings menu - dunno why it is set on by default. Turning off adds nice 3.0 shaders but overall it looks almost the same brown and shitty (but more shiny). 3. No resolution here sir - just dont be stupid enough to give money to people You dont know and cant punch in the face.

Re: The DNF bug/error reporting thread
Hi guys, the game's driving me mad, I've never seen such level of weirdness in a videogame in my entire life.
The thing is, I start the game and then I'm in the football field battling against the Cycloid emperor, everything's all shiny and blurred because that's how it's supposed to look like, you know. Okay, the Cycloid goes down 3 times, I kill it and the text "A winrar is yuo!!" appears. Then everything fades out and the screen goes black, and when it fades in again I find Duke or whoever he is laying on a bed in a small dark room. I get up and try to exit the room, but when I press the use key on the door, an annoying high-pitched nasal voice shouts "I DON'T WANNA GO OUT! *SNORT", WTF IS THIS SHIT? So, I see a computer on a table, I turn it on using the use key and the guy automatically sits down in an awesome level of FBA. Once the Pc has booted, an internet surfer pops in and goes full screen, and the only options I'm given is "Create shitty thread", "Spam shitty answers such "It's coming", "Shock and awesome", "This E3 is definately the time" and so, and "Press F5". The surfer is the only app I can use. I cannot even shutdown the Pc because the annoying voice won't keep shouting "I DON'T WANT TO SHUTDOWN THE PC, I KNOW IT'S COMING AND THIS TIME IT'S FOR REAL *SNORT". Then the game hangs, this happens every time I start the game. What to do guys? Thanks in advance

Re: The DNF bug/error reporting thread
dukeonly - there is a small icon in the lower-left called "I don`t care" - predd d-pad down and click it. The game will run but it will be very buggy and shitty - this works only martian version of xbox360 called xklocek36,5 for vallis marineris region where I liveas I saw it doesnt work on cydonia nor olympus mons and on all earth regions (stupid regional coding).
