It seems a bit strange that they'd type the review and have a computer-generated voice speak it from the text.

I don't know how many people come on to his videos and say that, it is not computer generated. It is his real voice, just ask "Steve" that.

Oh no, i remember those microsoft sam reviews, my friend watched them ages ago whilst taking the mick out of duke (i just made sure to play duke with the volume way high next time is saw him)
I often meant to get round to doing a review, it's on my list, but a lot of equipment has failed on me recently.

Sounds similar to me, but ive only used MS Sam once, and that was when i found it in college and put foul words in (how childish, but i was extremely bored) - so i might be wrong, its just what i remember it sounding like.

If you are using Windows you should find "Speech" under the control panel.

i know where it is, and it still sounds similar to me, but you're right, it isnt the same.
I dont use it because i dont have a use for it. I tried making a program once that turned it on and made it say stuff - i abandoned that project, as i do with most things i start.

It's so devoid of emotional nuances and so strangely paced that I assumed it had to be computer-generated from text. Or maybe read from text by an exceptionally bad voice actor on a bad day.

0:54-0:57 in that video, "[..]in the ass on this one" is a dead giveaway for an artificial voice. Check out the pacing and emphasis on "this one" - it's artificial. The words are run together too much for a human and the emphasis is placed on "one", whereas a human would place the emphasis on "this" (or not at all).

Maybe it's his real voice, but digitised and used in an artificial voice program.

A real person can use a voice synthesizer.

I don't see anyone arguing that these reviews are being made by an AI.

I have provided an example, one of many, showing why I think that this is not a natural voice and probably not simply a modified voice. Your incoherent shouting doesn't cut it as a counter-argument.

I am not convinced that the voice in that video is a natural human voice spoken by a person in real-time.

Alternatively, it might be a person who's a good voice-actor deliberately trying to sound like a computer-generated voice (and doing a very good job of it).
