Go, Speed Racer, Go! (Oh no - texture problem.)
Hey guys, new to the community, but lovin' this SWP thing. I especially enjoy the amount of control we get over how we want the game to play/look. Cool stuff.
Anyway. So you know that part of the first level, where you have to remote-control the car with the key on it, using the CCTV monitor as a guide? Well, I'm at that, but all I get on the monitor is a static texture. Like - as in 'snow' on a television. Also, it isn't animated. I've tried searching for the problem, but I'm just about at my wits end. Right now I'm playing DOSBox, but I'd rather use SWP, because of the quicksave, and other options. PS- I'm on Vista64, if that makes a difference. |

Re: Go, Speed Racer, Go! (Oh no - texture problem.)
Hmm, I thought ProAsm had fixed this problem, maybe not.
If you look in the options menus, try and find the hacks, it should be in there somewhere to swap it with one of the other controllers (One of the ones in the same room as the vehicle with the key) but it will make you need to restart the level i think. Also, see if you have the newest version of SWP by checking - http://proasm.com/ Sometimes a Beta of SWP is posted on JonoF's forums (where the actaul SWP forum is) so you can have a look at that there - http://www.jonof.id.au/forum/index.php?board=13.0

It would probably be faster just to use the no clipping cheat "swghost" and then go into the sector with the key, turn clipping back on to pickup the key, turn it off to exit, and then turn it back on to play, that's what I did as I recall.

The Red controls will drive the Yellow car with the silver key.
The lastest version does have the 8 bit fix though. http://www.proasm.com/files/sw/Swp424.zip

Same here. For me it wasn't static though but a HOM-effect. But if what people are saying is true, that this has been fixed in the meantime, then go for that
