What Steve said. I'm just pissed off about this right now. I think the Take Two thing is going to take months, if not years to sort out and I'm tired of having my hopes dashed.

It's certainly possible. I think it's in both Take 2's and 3drealm's interests to settle the suit amicably.

All I want to know is if the Duke facebook page is officially run by 3drealms and a comment from George on why there are screenshots being posted from DNF.

Could it be signs of a settlement? If the lawsuit is still going, I seriously doubt 3dr's lawyers would endorse posting ANY type of DNF media in any form until the case was heard.

Oh man... this feeling... again... not again...

Ok, I can see why you are all skeptical. When I first saw the news on Duke4.net, I was all like "Oh GOD, stop playing with my heart like that!" But let's face some facts: this was a (micro) announcement about DNF (and don't come with PSP/DS/IPhone crap, no way those are possible on these) from SCOTT. SCOTT. You know how Scott is. George is chatty when compared to Scott when it comes about DNF. And when Scott talks about DNF, he's oftenly realistic. He acknowledged they screwed up on past iterations of development. Scott wouldn't be stupid to do such a thing as releasing 2 screenshots if Duke wasn't back on the game! And if even if he didn't, even if by some occasion the Duke Facebook (or should I say FaceDuke?) is a fake, that still doesn't unconsider the "he's back" coming from Scott himself.

So I see, my initial reaction was "omgomgomgomg" in a "quit crapping already", but I guess I always had a glimmer of hope that the Duke was never gone. Just think about it, we all thought that 3DR was shutting down for good for a couple of weeks, when we found out it wasn't true. Who knows what is true or what is fake? It just saddens me so much to look at these enthusiastic (or should I say enDukeastic? ...ok, I'll stop this) awesome guys like Steve (IN STEEF WE TRUST) and KaiserSoze mourning, like all their dreams are gone. Dang. Even if the future leaves us with a bitter taste in our mouths, we should celebrate at least for a short time: The King is back. Raise ye' glasses and ye' boots!

One thing I agree: if you are going to cocktease us now, 3DR, you better give us a (thai) happy ending!

KaiserSoze, this profile was originally linked to by Scott on Facebook it seems. Beyond that both Scott and a row of the recently let go 3DR guys are friends, most recently.

Also apparently Scott said the following on Facebook this Tuesday:

Quote:
Two meetings at work, including the signing of key contract.
Does any of this mean that DNF is somehow revived? Not neccesarily.

Re: Interesting Facebook post from Scott Miller about Duke.
Delta-Scott saying "Duke is back" or whatever is hardly a DNF related announcement. Like I said earlier, we've got multiple Duke Nukem game projects coming shortly like the Iphone/Touch port and PSP/Nintendo DS Duke games as well.

If it *IS* somehow about DNF, I'm tired of cryptic innuendos from 3drealms regarding the game. Just come out and say things have been settled and the game is being finished. That is not hard to do.

I'd presume if things have somehow been ironed out, Take2 would be commenting on it very quickly. I definately think it would send their stock up. Wouldn't be surprised to see the news break later today or early next week for sure if this is indeed the case. I'll keep my expectations checked at zero though.

Duke Nukem movie? Forget that. Make a movie regarding the development fiasco behind the game. I'm serious.

Re: Interesting Facebook post from Scott Miller about Duke.
I think that whether DNF will come out after all or not, we'll hardly know much - hell, even the closing of 3DR wasn't officially confirmed with press releases or anything, and now we just get rumours from Scott and Duke Nukem himself (lol) that somehow the game is still being worked on. And now this "announcement" about Duke being "ready (for) a weekend of action" - either they have something going on, or 3DR decided to whore the fans a tiny bit more (just as if it wasn't enough after 13 years) by making cryptic announcements just to advertise these "stupid" handheld games (mind you I will try the DS one but it's not DNF!).

I'm not holding my breath for DNF......Money talks, bs walks!
We've seen a few signs that they should have been very close to finished. Maybe the dev. team was released with the understanding that 3DR wanted to get rid of Take2 and rehires people once the dust settled. Finish the last few pieces and there we go.
I dunno.. just not expecting anything I suppose..
