2009 F1 Round 4 Bahrain GP race: Button shows his class, Brawn the master of strategy

Jenson Button drove superbly and made a very important overtake in the first corner. He totally deserved the win. Vettel was held up by Trulli who was on the medium tyre compound in the middle stint. Both of them drove well, but couldn't match Button and the strategy of Brawn.

Hamilton was mind blowing off the line, he overtook so many cars. I think the McLaren KERS is the best in F1. Barrichello should have been on the podium.

Räikkönen must feel some satisfaction. He raced well and he ended up with some points, well deserved and very welcome to Ferrari who if they had not scored any points would have had their worst start to a season in their entire history.

Glock didn't go well, he faded when he got on the prime tyre and couldn't find any pace.

Alonso had a terrible getaway off the line and was overtaken by the Ferraris and Rosberg's Williams. He and Trulli had a terrific fight at one point and Alonso overtook Trulli bravely on the outside of turn 4, exciting stuff and very brave of Alonso and good driving by the both of them. In the end he managed to grab the last available point. Renault have a lot of work to do.

Rosberg continues flattering to deceive in the practice sessions, but fails to deliver in the race. He must be gutted because he needs to win a race this year.

Piquet finished the race, -5 positions from where he started which is good. He needs to score points but the Renault car is not fast enough in a normal race.

Webber had an incredible start to the race, he flew up from P18, but he just couldn't make it further than P11 at the end. He could have been a real contender if Sutil hadn't blocked him in qualifying.

Kovalainen couldn't muster more than P12, medicore. Bourdais finally outperformed Buemi, he needed to and he delivered. Now he needs points.

Massa had problems, he had to pit for a new nose and there were concerns about his KERS. He also had a get together with Fisichella, but there were no damage except Fisichella blocking Button who were lapping them.

Force India have improved their cars and their drivers beat the Toro Rosso of Buemi and both BMWs. A good step forward, but more is needed if they want their first points. They are due, though, because of the heartbreak of Monaco where Kimi crashed into Sutil and last race where Sutil was set for a few points aquaplaned and crashed.

BMW are totally in the crapper, they need to make a big step forward when they get the new parts in Barcelona. They must or they would have wasted their shot at the championship last year when they stopped development and started focusing on this year's car.

Nakajima was, impressively, the only retirement with an oil pressure problem. In such a hot environment, one would expect more cars to retire. Impressive reliability in F1 these days.

It was a normal race and the Brawns are proven to be the best cars over a race distance with Red Bull and Toyota snapping at their heels.

Bring on Barcelona where most teams bring out new parts and the pecking order may change dramatically.
