I LOVED these self-referential almost fractal jokes. It was the beginning what nowadays is clearly understood as "meme". Tiny information bits aranged, rearanged, distorted , inverted, reintroduced.

I think it's actually quite fascinating to see that our "explosion in size" was virtual, rather than something real.

Used to be that towns exploded over time, and looking back you would wonder how that came to be. Where something starting as quaint and cosey morphed into something big and "statistical".

I wonder whether some day I will tell a nephew/niece about the times when places on the internet had "a couple of handfull of people exchanging ideas" rather than millions squabling.

I uploaded a screenshot from Rango to imgur, because i wanted to know where they took it from, because my brain keeps pestering me with the idea that i have seen that picture almost identically somewhere else (the part with the giant eye)

5000 hits. Not that I got the answer I was seeking... But it somehow baffles the mind somewhat. (And unarguably that is NOTHING compared to other things on the net.)
