Re: Your Number 1 choice of publisher?
Square Enix could have been included, but considering they operate mostly from Japan, them publishing DNF I found rather weird.

Quote:
Square Enix is folding Eidos into Square Enix Europe which is supposed to be more oriented with dealing with Publishing in Western countries so it would not be weird. Namco Bandai would be weirder, IMO.

Re: Your Number 1 choice of publisher?
I don't quote understand this poll.
Who should publish it? If 3D Realms is still developing it, then I really don't care who publish it. See people, publishing and developing are two different things. For example, Terminal Reality developed Ghostbusters, but their publisher was Atari. Bungie developed Halo, but Microsoft published it. Companies like Valve are few where they can both develop AND publish games. So what are you asking? Who do you want to publish it and pay the bills? or Who do you want to develop and publish it if 3D realms and Take two drop it? If it is former, then I really don't care. If it is the latter, then probably....either Valve or 2K (More specifically 2K Boston, makers of BioShock). I trust both these developers on the list to make great games. The others it has been a hit or miss and thus are not trusted with this game without screwing it up...or in this case...more screwed up then it already is. |

Re: Your Number 1 choice of publisher?
I agree....The thread should be Your number 1 choice of external developer team to finish DNF. Or at least investor.
Publisher? That's Take Two and nothing that has happened or is expected to happen is likely to change that.

Re: Your Number 1 choice of publisher?
Meh, the thread title made it pretty clear I thought, who would you like to publish DNF? When I made my statement regarding the topic I didn't take anything else into account except publisher reputation and whatever else name I wouldn't mind seeing on the box without thinking it was shit.
There's other threads regarding alternate developers to finish the game. I think maybe you just thought about the question too much |

Re: Your Number 1 choice of publisher?
WHAT? You mean you want Disney Interactive to Publish DNF? We could end up seeing
Mickey Nukem for that matter, or have the pig cops turn into a bunch of Goofy's and Donald Duck's?! Think about it. ---------- Post added at 09:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:31 AM ---------- I did put EA, but now that you think of it, I would like to see Apogee llc Publish it. Because if the whole Duke Nukem Trilogy project works, they get the money, THEY publish it.

Re: Your Number 1 choice of publisher?
That list is flawed. Still, I root for digital release over Steam with added extras for preordering. Like concept art, small documentary ~1hour, small quick-start level editing tutorial - just basic concepts. That kind of stuff.

Re: Your Number 1 choice of publisher?
ZeniMax and Prey?
by Kristian Joensen, on Tue Aug 11 2009, 04:53AM Since 3D Realms let their internal development team go, there have been a number of news stories about the company and its subsequent actions. We all know about the ongoing lawsuit between 3D Realms and Take Two concerning Duke Nukem Forever and Duke Begins. Scott Miller has also mentioned that there are a number of iPhone games coming out, including the just released port of Duke Nukem 3D. However that is not all that has been going on with 3D Realms in the last few months, it has come to our attention that the Prey trademark that was held by 3D Realms has now shifted hands twice. On June 22th, 3D Realms assigned its interest in the trademark to Radar Group. However perhaps more interestingly less than a month later, on July 21st, Radar Group assigned its interests in the trademark to ZeniMax Media. The company that has been in the news alot lately as the publisher of Splash Damage’s Brink and for acquiring famous development studio id Software. The reasons for these dealings in the Prey trademark and what effect if any they will have on Prey 2 or the Eastern European publishing deal already in place for it is unkown. When we know more we will let you know. Source: Duke4.net Interesting indeed. Just some quick greens or something bigger? The plot thickens.

Re: Your Number 1 choice of publisher?
I don't like much of EA's latest games (with the exception of crysis) but they can make it happen but I think Ubisoft is a better match for Duke. I voted Bethesda Softworks though because I am also a Bethesda Fan boi and 3DR and Bethesda are both original greats and Bethesda has a loyal following

Re: Your Number 1 choice of publisher?
I'm saying EA, which some might not agree with, but you have to face it, EA games sell!
Also most of the few modern games i like were published by EA (Mirror's Edge, TimeSplitters, and a couple of the Harry Potter games) - So that's my reasoning. I haven't headr of a lot of those publishers. I wonder what would happens if it were SEGA though?

Re: Your Number 1 choice of publisher?
I agree, but then again I'm a pretty ignorant person. Other than that; Act, Ubi, Thq, etc -- I couldn't really care less. Something along the lines of self-published or steamed wouldn't be half bad.
